Lecturer:
Prof. Samantha Zacher, Cornell University
Samantha Zacher introduced us to her work on the Old Testament in the Anglo-Saxon world. Through her close reading of one homily from the Anglo-Saxon period, we discussed the treatment of Jews in the Anglo-Saxon imagination and the methodological issues relating to writing about Jews in a time and place devoid of their physical presence.
