Workshop | Methods of Documentary Research of Medieval Sources

Prof. Adam Kosto of Columbia University led a two day intensive workshop, examining documentary practices in Medieval sources. Focusing on testamntary documents, Prof. Kosto presented the documentary practices in Medieval Catalonia, and how such documents were constructed and created. The workshop continued to analyze the testamentary documents, demonstrating the possibilities they present in learning about Medieval power structures, material culture, providing an opportunity to reach beyond elite practices and circumstances into a greater variety of Medieval people.
