Lecturer:

Miri Fenton, HUJI

Miri Fenton went to the British Association of Jewish Studies Annual Conference, 10-12 July 2017, hosted at Edinburgh University, to present a paper based on her PhD research. The conference theme was 'Jews on the Move: Exploring the movement of Jews, objects, texts, and ideas in space and time.' Her lecture, entitled 'Rabbinic social thought meets medieval migration: reading responsa literature as a bridge between social thought and everyday life' addressed the importance of mobility, migration, and movement in everyday medieval social life as an example of how the application of certain categories of Jewish law were informed by socio-economic circumstances.
