Lecture I Dress and Medieval Jewish Gendered Identities: Young Jewish Men in northern Europe and the Ideals of Knightly Masculinity

This talk explored the following questions: How did Jewish young men, who lived in northwestern Europe during the High and Late Middle Ages, dress? How did they behave in their daily lives? And what can be deduced from the way they dressed and behaved about their identities and the masculinities ideals that spurred their actions?
