As part of our ongoing seminar, the seminar with Dr. Cristoph Cluse was dedicated to an outstanding German charter from Worms, part of the ShUM communities, from the year 1312. In the charter bishop Emmerich of Worms as well as the cathedral chapter issued a contract with the local Jewish community regulating the election and confirmation of the Judenrat, constituted by the parnasim. This charter was discussed and analyzed in detail during the seminar while exploring Jewish and Christian ideas of law and custom.
