Hannah Teddy Schachter
Hannah Teddy Schachter is a PhD candidate in Jewish Studies and a visiting research fellow at Beyond the Elite. Interested in gender studies, as well as the social and cultural history of Jews in Ashkenaz, she holds a BA in German Studies from Clark University and completed her MA in Jewish Civilizations at the Hochschule für jüdische Studien Heidelberg with a focus in Jewish representation in the illuminated manuscripts of Blanche of Castile, Queen of France (1188-1252). She was a Doña Gracia Fellow at Paideia-The European Institute of Jewish Studies in Sweden (2012-13). Her doctoral research deals with the role of medieval queens in the Jewish-royal relations of Northern France during the thirteenth century.
