Ido Noy is an Art Historian who specializes in the history of jewelry, ancient Jewish head decorations, Jewish wedding jewelry, and love tokens. He graduated in 2006 from the Jewelry department of Beza’lel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem, and had recently finished a PhD dissertation on ceremonial jewelry used in Jewish Ashkenazi weddings during the Middle Ages. He is an artist specializing in Judaica and jewelry, participating in art exhibitions both in Israel and abroad, and taught these subjects at Beza’lel. Since 2012 Ido has been a member of the Center for Jewish Art at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, working on documenting Ancient and Medieval Jewish Art, and serving as the head of the of Beza’lel School Documentation Project. As part of this project Ido co-curated two Judaica Exhibitions of the Bezalel School as part of the Jerusalem Biennale for Jewish Contemporary Art (2015), and at the Rishon Le-Zion Museum (2016).
